Coil whine question

Hello

I have recently recieved a replacement 660ti (MSI-version) beacuse the former one had coil whine. The noise came when i played games at high fps. The new card also makes those noises when at high fps. They also change frequency and tone according to how bright the pictures are (wierdly enough). I was wondering if coil whine is a regular problem in GPUs, and is coil whine dangerous? I've also heard people talking about coil whine in both motherboards and PSU also. Is coil whine in these components dangerous also? Sorry if i ask a lot. Also, excuse my Norwegian english if you guys find any errors tongue.gif

Its no big deal, I have it on my MB. Had it on my GTS450s too. Annoying but fine. If you OC it a bit or a lot it might go away. The whine on my MB goes away when I am running at 4.8ghz, but is there when I am at stock. So try an overclock. It might go away. There's a guide link in my signature if you want one.

i had horrible coil whine when i put a new video card in ......turns out it was the load of the card on the Power SUpply and the power supply was the one making the noise

i could have swear it was the Video Card but it was the PSU.....it was not a issue with my 460gtx , but when i put the 7970 it was ...new PSU problem sold (i did had a 7970 ghz that did had bad coil whine thou)

but i read online 90% of the time is the PSU
