Didn't the article mention that they've been working on this for more than a year?

frame latency issues with multi GPU setups have been an issue far longer then people think. It didn't just start happening with AMD HD7xxx series, its just now more people are noticing the stutter and other issues alike, that has brought it up, and then companies like PCPers. to do a lot of research to give others insight on the whole ordeal.

I know that Cadaveca who does motherboard reviews at TPU has been talking about the issue even before its been made public that last weeks to the last few months. People just have disregarded it as a non issue because they don't notice it, but the tests actually show it is an issue. Just makes them sound stupid when they try to defend it every which way, when you can't deny the tests were are given by PCPers.

AMD will fix it, assuming they know how, but it won't be quick.

What I find hilarious is that people are knocking these tests because a part of the software was developed by Nvidia. When infact nothing Nvidia could have done to the tool could make these tests bias in anyway.

Its just plain stupidity is where its at now, and the fact that so many people don't actually understand how this all works.

All these years ppl were buying CF and Sli setups and they actually didn't bring them any gains. Sure they should receive good bashing for it. What we don't know is if it was only AMD in the past, or nVidia also. We only know that Kepler works fine in Sli

@MxPhenom 216:
But PCper are the first ones to measure actual frame-rate (Observed FPS). Ppl didn't give much attention to stuttering b/c it is a subjective matter.

Correct thumb.gif

Nvidia has the same issue with there cards whether its Kepler or not, but its not to the same degree as AMD at this point.

I wouldn't recommend CFX or SLI to anyone.

But being honest, I would still prefer CFX or SLI over Titan.

But one other thing bothers me, if AMD really sucks @ CF, why didn't nVidia point it out by now?! They knew it for sure since they did such a nice job with Sli. All this time they let AMD get away with it?! (What the hell are you talking about anyway)

You say Nvidia does such a nice job at SLI. Then you come up with this in your next post.

And yet, you have never SLIed your GTX 580 like your sig rig mentions it.

This is why some Nvidia users makes me laugh so hard (or not).
They bash AMD, but they never have used AMD or never SLIed their own Nvidia.

Why is AMD bashing so important anyway??????

@KaRLiToS

not sure what you are arguing about. I stand behind all I said. They did a nice job with Sli, not perfect and not as good as single-GPU, but compared to AMD they did an excellent job. Most ppl wouldn't notice Sli Kepler stuttering seeing those results. You should learn to give credit where and when it is due.

And so what if I didn't Sli? I wouldn't do that with 580's, they emit too much heat.

Also, I owned AMD before nVidia and this 580 I have only b/c it was much cheaper then 7870.

actually, if you go by the other reviewers videos or their own of gameplay under 30-50% speed slowdown, the stutter is there nonetheless. the differences between the two are both visible, but most people exaggerate the difference. Graph wise, there's a huge difference, on actual gameplay the difference is much smaller then the graph seems to insinuate.

Fair enough.

But don't worry, I 100% realize that SLI looks much smoother than Crossfire (actually) and I give credit to Nvidia for that. And I also know that Titan is the strongest card. I'm not trying to say Nvidia is bad.

I'm trying to say that AMD is good wink.gif

But making that big of a drama. weirdsmiley.gif

Yes, stuttering is subjective. Single-GPU also stutters. But what makes the difference is 'Observed frame-rate'. That I see as the most important thing in there reviews from PCper. FPS that the user actually sees.
