ASUS Laptop CPU Upgrade

Thread Starter
I have an ASUS K53TA BBR6

I'd like to replace the A6 with an A10.

1. Does anyone see any issues with this?

2. Will the PD cores recognize the 6650m and Crossfire with it? If not, should I still upgrade the CPU?

3. Is this even worth my time? (I know it's worth the money)

4. I'd also like to put a 256gb SSD in there. Any recommendations?

P.S. I also plan to upgrade the screen to 1080p

Games I play the most:
1. Starcraft II
2. WoW
3. Civ V
4. (will definitely be playing ESO)
5. Skyrim

You shouldn't upgrade your laptop CPU unless you can find the replacement CPU for cheap.

1. You need to make sure the sockets match and the heatsink is powerful enough.

2. You will find out smile.gif

3. If you have a 2 core A6 then yes, if it is already a quad core then the improvements will not be that obious CPU wise. But the iGPU is much better.

4. Go for a Samsung 840 or 830.
