I have the R 7870 and I love it, I would only replace it with a GTX 680 if I were to replace it. thumb:

Thank you for all the answers wink.gif
Despite the fact that the 7870 is better, I decided that £40 quid can be spent better elsewhere, and ultimately I don't need the extra performance as I don't play very demanding games, and even if I was to in the future, I can still play them (660 can play everything at pretty high settings with good framerates).
Again, thanks for all the answers,

Adam

Didn't buy it yet, but that's what I'm gonna get. there's a £40 price difference with the 7870 being the more expensive version, so bear that in mind.

Here is a very recent benchmark comparing the two and crossfire/sli. The 7870 is slightly faster than the 660, but added features of NV, better drivers, along with a cheaper price and the benefit of SLI in the future (which is amazing, as you will see in the benchmarks) would make me also go for the 660!

It looks cool, and cooling should be good. From what I've read about it, it's nearly a 7950, which seems like a pretty sick deal biggrin.gif

Opinions? Would this be that much more future proof than a 660? If I get the 660, I'll probably overclock it too, so bear that in mind. The thing is, for £200 quid I could get a 660, and a good headset, but I need £250 is I go with the 7870. Why is my life so difficult :< I don't think I can get through this.

There's no such thing as ''futureproof'' when it comes to computer hardware, unfortunately.

Out of the two I would choose the 7870 if you want to overclock and overvolt. If you dont want to mess with voltage (overvolting will reduce the lifespan of your card, but you may not care about this), then choose the 660.

Thanks for that wink.gif
The 7850, 7870 and the 660 are all pretty close, and it often comes down to drivers who wins.

Actually it comes down to how lucky you are with your card and how well it overclock.
