AMD. AMD driver issues now? Really.
In any case it's strange that the 7870 is more expensive for you, a 7870 GHz edition here is cheaper by at least 30 bucks (at least!) and has a better cooling solution than the cheapest 660

Iv owned both sides of cards. so no fanboyism here. If you are looking for the best price vs. performance, the 7870 has it. One can overclock it to 7950 speeds. I would say any Sapphire 7870 would be a great buy.

works for me.... of course the Radeon fanbois will chime in with their biased 2cents.gif

you can overclock the GTX 660 as well just not as high as the 7870 and it will run your games at the desired res.
and if you do go SLi it's already reported and proven/stated that it's a better experience then 7870's in CF-X.
all the PC Per Framing articles say it and the 660 vs 7870 actually says it verbatim.

regardless, enjoy the 660 if you do indeed get it and if change your mind and go for the 7870,
get the 7870 XT the one on the 7900 PCB.

cheers.

Yeah, it's weird how different prices are biggrin.gif The twin frozr 3 gtx 660 is £158 quid (No point translating that into dollars as your pricing is different anyway biggrin.gif) and that's a pretty awesome cooler.

PC Per did there own thing as well.

get over it man.
cheers.

as I said, a fanboi always has to say something...
if you read my post I have being very neutral as I mentioned both brands and had the OP's question in mind.
not a get this because I have that in my signature hardware type of responses...
those are biased.

I have Twin Frozr Editions as they make HD 7870's in Twin Frozr's too.
quietness and coolest running GPU's I have came across.

And btw, I didn't say that AMD's drivers were bad, I just said that performance changes with each driver update and sometimes it's Nvidia who's winning and sometimes it's AMD.

Well, you clearly ignored my pm or don't care for that, so go with whatever pleases you. You can always return whatever card or exchange it.
in this case I'd definitely recommend going with the gtx660. the price difference alone makes the choice easy.
