Copper Waterblocks, Copper Radiators.... Aluminium Fill Port?

As the title says, having copper+nickel everything, and an aluminium fill port, is this bad?

It's not ideal, but is your fill port such that you actually have water sitting on the aluminum part for more than a couple seconds as you fill/drain it?

That would depends on how i feed it. I was thinking of maybe having the fill port go straight into the radiator.

The case is an 800D- I have a 360 Radiator up top.
I have not put it together yet, as I am waiting for some more parts. Potentially I could lead it to the 240 rad?
Probably doesn't make much sense without photos.

Here is kind of how it will be looking.
Any suggestions? (having the fill port go to the 360 radiator ontop would not be working that well, as it is the same level.

With a fill port up top like that, most likely you are going to run a small 3-4" tube from the bottom of the fill port to the top of the bay reservoir. In which case, as long as you don't fill the water completely to the top where the water lays on the aluminum, you should be fine.

This is how I have one of my builds, with a fill port up top and the water never touches the fill port for long:




With the side panel on, you can't see that the fill tube isn't filled all the way up:




As far as having to have the fill port at the highest point ... you don't. My Muzzle Flash build has the fill port at the very bottom of the case (in a pedestal BELOW the case in fact). The loop is totally full. The only thing you have to do is make sure you fill the loop with the pump(s) running. With the pumps running, they will draw the water in and fill the loop, almost regardless at what level the fill port is at.



(Again, the fill port is on top of the bay reservoir at the very bottom, front, of the pedestal, well below the level up all the water blocks and the upper radiator.)

You could also electrically isolate the fill port and be fine too .If there is a gasket between it and your case (which is grounded btw) or it is mounted on a plastic part, then it should be fine even with water making contact.

Corrosion requires a strong electrical connection in order to happen, distilled water does not provide enough of a connection by itself.

The fill port is a danger Dan port, and i've already drilled the hole, so I want to use it.

I'll try to have it directly to the dual bay reservoir. It would not push the liquid all the way to the top would it? (science, I presume)

Unfortunately, it screws directly to my Aluminium 800D case, so i do believe that it would come into conflict.

I also do use EK's coolant, which has very little electric conductivity.


However, I did have the fill port lower for about a month, and i did see some signs of corrosion.
