Eyefinity: Center-120hz, flanking-60hz, can it be done?

Thread Starter
I have searched quite a bit, but the only threads i can find that address this question either don't answer it in the right context or are several years old.

I have 3 monitors, 2 23" ASUS 60hz monitors, and 1 ASUS 23" 120hz monitor. I'm looking into 7970 Crossfire as a potential upgrade. Can Eyefinity run the middle monitor at 120hz while running the outer 2 at 60? I currently have gtx 580 sli, and Nvidia's surround creates one big windows-supported monitor at 5760x1080, which then requires windows to cut the refresh rate down to 60hz to match the "weakest link", making the 120hz monitor useless.

So, can it be done? Thanks.

In short, nope.avi

It's the same reason you cannot mix CRT's with LCD's, you need identical outputs in order to do Surround/Eyefinity. If your secondary and tertiary monitor cannot support the output then you cannot do it.
