Ballistic 667 MHz low latency RAM good? - Page 2

Personally....I'd spend the extra coin and get a higher quality and powered set. You have a PRETTY good computer. Well..it's down right awesome. If you have the change....

Not sure, I really don't know much about how RAM works, I just know what it looks like when it does work.

The G. Skill is overpriced, It's probably the same chips as the Team Group sticks that boredom linked it to, just rated at higher speeds with looser timings. Get the Team Group, it's good stuff, much better than the ballistix.

Hmm, well now I'm not sure what to do lol.

The Ballistix is expensive, but it seems like good RAM and the guy and likely fetch me a better cash in cost for my current RAM.

But that OCZ Gold XTC is cheaper, though I'm not sure what sort of quality it is, comparedd to the Ballistix.

The G. Skill is nice, but simply out of my price range.

Team Xtreem is another option, but again, how does it compare to the Ballistix?

I guess bottom line is, I need a balance between quality and price. If Ballistix is very good RAM, better than the other stuff suggested here, then I guess i can pay the extra money, with the added bonus of getting money back for my current RAM.

If the other stuff is better, I may consider it, but the problem is I'd have to tell this guy that I can't go through with the deal and also have to find a way to unload my current RAM for a decent price.

The Ballistix, Team Group, and GSkill mentioned all use D9GMH, so they'll OC to around the same point

OCZ is "cheap" compared to the 3 above but overpriced for what it does

Okay...well then it all comes down to what he can give me for my RAM. Since I doubt I could get even $50 on eBay for it, if he gives me like $90 then I'll go with the Ballistix. How easy it is to OC RAM though? Like can you do it all through the computer or do you actually have to mess with the chip?

Ive got the Ballistix pc6400 and it is good ram.
Currently mine is clocked at 1000mhz with timings of 4.4.4.9 and running fine, which seems pretty good to me.
