Semi-Old School Overclocking

Thread Starter
Going back to the 775 days here.

I've got a E3400 on a Gigabyte UD3P running at 3.0ghz but I'm looking to bump it up some more.

Also, i'm rocking some old cheap 2x2Kingston DDR2 800mhz 1.8v ram sticks that I've been told don't OC very well so keeping them at 800mhz is a

Currently I'm at everything stock volts.
12.5 Multiplier with 240FSB to give me 3.0ghz but I wan't to give it some more but I don't really want to up the voltage too much and I was wondering if you think 3.6ghz+ is achievable under some little voltage tweaking. i've had this sitting at 3.0 for the longest time and did very little tweaking and i'm not really that familiar with overclocking these chips.

Tempatures are around 43 degrees C under full load.

Anyways, any tips would be greatly appreciated smile.gif Thanks!
Sorry if this seems like a random blob of text and jumble. Its 12:45am tongue.gif

While a legendary board, the GA-EP45-UD3P is severely overrated board.

Nice, go for 4ghz tongue.gif Nicer round number lol
Do you have an hwbot profile? If not create one and submit your scores.
Try 2d benchmarks, like Superpi 1m and 32m, ucbench2011, wprime 32m and 1024m...You might need Windows XP or Server 2003 for the best scores.

Some food for thought/inspiration: http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/celeron_e3400_2.6ghz/

I think I'll go for 4+ at a later time... Just as I'm doing this one of my HDD's seems to be making some concerning loud grumbling noises... but I will probably be getting to that hwbot profile in the near future as well smile.gif

Yeah, I like having spare hard drives for Windows for each machine I got.
I sold one of my hdd's but I used to have three; one with XP, an ssd with Win 8 and another hdd with win 7 and my data.
Have fun!
