I can recommend the EVGA 670 FTW, mine boosted to 1300 MHz right out of the box and with a little overclocking is now stable at +75/+700, though I'm sure I can get even more out of it. Saying that however, I think the 7970 is the way to go with this current generation, better price/performance as well as 3GB of VRAM and great scaling in XFire.

I know 7970's are the way to go tongue.gif I had 3 of them in the past but... The only cards available in holland which i know FOR SURE are voltage unlocked are the older XFX DD / XFX DD BE's which are appearantly not quite good, and the 925Mhz Rev 1 Reference cards but then I need another Accelero and I really REALLY dislike the vrm sinks of those things since they are just not capable of cooling the VRM's at anything past 1200mv VDDC.

So, I only have one choice. Either another 670, like the FTW (But ther ef. cooler is too loud for me) or something like my current favorite 670, the Zotac AMP!.

Or, which is €100 cheaper, a high-end 7950 such as the for-sure voltage unlocked ASUS 7950 DC2T V2. (Mate has one, it's unlocked. Does 1320Mhz benches on 1.3v VDDC).

And, it fits my MIVGZ colors.. tongue.gif

EDIT: My all-time favorite 7970 is nowhere to be found in terms of places to buy it...
I mean the legendary PowerColor PCS+ HD7970 VORTEXII...

EDIT2: I found a secondhand Powercolor PCS+ HD7970 3GB GDDR5 VORTEXII which is basically a new (RMA return) card and is only €300! I HAVE to have it! biggrin.gif

As you can read in my.previous posts, i had 2 reference 7970s with a accellero.

Both had the same issue. Coretemps of 60-65c on 1.38v but VRMs go way over 100c even on 1.200v with the very crappy VRM sinks. It even cost me a card when in mid-benchmark the card decided not to temp throttle and blew up..

To be honest, When talking about the "Overclocking" or maybe "Extreme Overclocking", they are only 2 models in my mind, they are the MSI Lightning OR ASUS Matrix...because those 2 card "in general" are HIGHLY Binned chip compared to most of cards.... maybe I'm a bit biased, but this is the fact based on my research.

I will get the MSI HD 7970 Lightning BE instead If I were you....But since you said that the price is 492 Euro, and your budget is 400 Euro, can you find a good deal for Sapphire Vapor X (7950 or 7970)?

That card is the card I recommend (if you can find one).

For 670, I recommend MSI GTX 670 Power Edition, mine can do 1.3 Ghz without mod bios.

Could you maybe find out which models are voltage locked and which aren't? From the Vapor-X's?

Only model Sapphire 7970 available is the 11197-03-40G Boost Dual-X which is 1.25v locked and has crap VRAM.

EDIT: I can get the Vapor-X OC...11197-12-40G...
It's €405 but I don't care.. Let's see if it's unlocked by googling a bit..

7950 wise there's basically 2.
The Boost 925Mhz version, 11196-19-20G
And the 950Mhz Boost version, 11196-09-40G.
The last one IS a Vapor-X version, BUT, it being a Boost card, is it voltage unlocked!?

Oh and something just came to my mind.

What about SLI GTX660's/GTX650Ti Boost or CF 7850's?
I had a bad experience with stuttering / slow feeling with 2 6950's unlocked in CF but maybe it's better now and I LOVED SLI 680's but alas the second card wasn't mine tongue.gif.
