Deciding between DFI motherboards..

Hi

I am in need of a new motherboard since my last one has basically crapped out on me. I have been looking at a few motherboards, the DFI Ultra, ASUS A8n32, and the DFI Expert for socket 939. I really can't justify the price for the ASUS right now because I figured I would be upgrading into a new computer in a year or so. The DFI Expert is around the same price as the DFI Ultra because of the deal at Directron.

I was wondering even if I'm probably not going to go Sli is the newer expert worth it? I really like the ASUS but just way too expensive.

I will be getting the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 because I doubt my old Antec 380w will do the job anymore.

ASUS A8N32 $162.99

DFI Ultra $104.99

DFI Expert $121.99

My first advice would be go to the official DFI support forum and post there - DFI-Street

If you can pick up an Expert at that price, personally I would go for it - it looks like a big step from your own board though

What RAM do you have? DFI's have very aggressive default timings and so may cause your PC to be unstable - if your going to go DFI you've gotta have some decent RAM, otherwise its just not worth it

I have some cheap Corsair value select ram. It does not like to overclock very much, if at all. I have been looking into getting some new ram but undecided what to get.

I've got a TwinMOS 1GB Dual Channel Kit, and according to DFI I should upgrade to some modern G.Skill, OCZ or Mushkin RAM.

Naturally, that is what I am doing

What kind of RAM are you after? I could recommend some

I have read good things about G.skill ram. At first I was thinking about getting 2 GB of ram but I honestly do not play games much anymore on my computer. I figured 1 GB would be good enough for me.
