Tubing? Coolant? Flushing?

Thread Starter
Ok, so since its coming up on my first maintence on my loop, I have a few things I want to add and/or change. The major one being my tubing.

I used tubing I got from Koolance when I first built it, but now it looks like crap. I almost think I have a alge attack in my loop, even though I used 100% Koolance coolant which I was told from Koolance would not permit growth and I should not use additives.

I did notice that its was not as clear as I thought it would be when I first got it, and now I am sick of it.

I was thinking this time of changing the tubing color to a mix of Blue and Black to match my theme as the Clear and blue coolant did not meet my expectations.

It seems Primochill is the tubing of choice for most, and am I correct about this or is there better, or is tubing pretty much just tubing.

Also I see a lot of people using a silver coil and PTnuke. I unfortantly can not use a silver coil ( at least I don't think I can) in my koolance resivoir, so is distilled and PTnuke good enough to prevent growth?

Another question I have is when I clean my rads, should I soak them in vinegar and water, or can I set up a little flushing system with vinegar and water, and just run that for a day and then flush out with water?

I know my blocks will have to come apart to clean them with a toothbrush.

My only opinion is just clean everything with distilled water.
I see people flushing with tap water, or hot tap water, or boiled water, vinegar...
I feel distilled water is easier and safer since you won't have to worry about removing any of the contaminants above with the methods mentioned, just flush it many times with the distilled water and you shouldnt have to worry
GL with the maintenance mate, i'm going to sub and see what other methods people are using thumb.gif
