i5-3570k Overclocking - Worst luck ever? - Page 2

Yeah I am very stoked. Hottest core temp with IBT is 80deg so I am happy to leave it there considering nothing I'll be doing will hammer the CPU like IBT.
80c is still very low, I wouldn't worry about the temps until you're at 90c, you could probably squeeze a little more out of the that. (at least try haha)
But yea for 24/7 every day use, 4.7ghz at 80c is fantastic... mad.gif

Thanks mate. thumb.gif

Just try lighter test first before doing Prime95, like Hyperpi32M or CINEBENCH smile.gif it's quite stressing your CPU. And use it at afew days or weeks perhaps.

just trial and error a bit more, i was in the same boat. got plenty of help on this forum.

1.3V is a bit high for 4.3, but it might be just the chip. idk.
for my 4.3 using offset (+0.015); stressing, voltage jumps to 1.24-1.25. attempted +0.010, wasnt happening. >.<<br /> i couldnt get 4.5 at all, even @1.35

Some need less Voltage some need much Voltage, it's the way chip does mate smile.gif if you are not satisfy then I guess you need to buy another chip.... well like I did biggrin.gif before this I got 3570K made in malay and can do 4.5GHz with 1.28Volt but then I sold it and bought another 3570K made in Costarica and can do 4.5GHz with 1.185Volt.
But it is gambling I think ... who knows I got better chip than previously? I might get even worse. It's my risk buying another chip but thank GOD, fortunately I got better chip...that's all.

Good people! it matters a great big deal what prime version you are using. I have discovered you are not stable at all until you prime with v27.9, the rest require less and lesser vcore as you use older versions which fake a stability until you meet with a really heavy load, then the WHEA errors begin to rack up and before long a bsod stops the show.

True, older prime95 don't support AVX stressing but V27.9 does support AVX stressing which cause abit high temp also. But CINEBENCH 11.5 is quite good for starting I guess smile.gif
