Two questions

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
1. Has anyone here had experience with insync for google drive?

I really need a google drive sync client and it doesn't seem to be a huge priority for google as it's bee "coming soon "for a long time. Insync seems to be a good 3rd party solution but it is still in beta and I need something safe! The files on my GDRIVE are very important. I have actual copies of course but I don't want it to get messed up and have to reupload everything it took a long time with my slow up speed.

2. How is everyone handing RAW photos particularly canon .CR2?

Acutally one other......

Is there a Linux equivalent of quicken? something that can import .QDF files or some way to convert quicken files to another format so I don't have to re-enter a lot of stuff.

So far I've got

Photoshop=GIMP
Illustrator= Inkscape
Office= Libre office (or google docs which is what I mainly use in windows)
Lightroom= ? (can get by without most of its features as long as I have RAW processing)
Makemkv= Makemkv
Google music manager= google music manager
Google drive = Insync (maybe?)

and that covers everything I need to make a full time Linux switch with only an "emergency windows disk"

Yes I have had experience with it on Arch Linux installed through AUR and it is awesome especially with the newer version. Works as good as the dropbox application really handy for not having to fully get into a browser to deal with stuff...

I also fully agree with tom.slick. insync is one of the only solutions i know in the Open Source community that actually works well besides writing yourself a complex Lua script.

For the Quickens thing you might want to look at GnuCash which is a FOSS solution. http://www.gnucash.org/
