I wanna see benchies.
And you could do a build log, that would be fun(with lots, lots of pics!!!!!)
Also, could you make a movie of you putting the cpu in place?I'm gonna be building my pc a pc this month and i'm nervous about that.

Great idea on the movie, if I only had a camera...Benchmarks coming soon. In one week to be exact...I need to get the programs on disk because The Chainsaw isn't meant for downloads...or extra crap...pictures I can take soon

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 - Good
  • GIGABYTE Intel P965 SLi Motherboard - Good
  • 750Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD - why not three 250GB drives in RAID0?? Faster!!!
  • 2Gb G. Skill DDR2 800 RAM (Which I had to go through H**L to get) - Why not the $300 Crucial DDR2 1000 kit..
  • LG 16x DVD-ROM Drive - OK
  • GIGABYTE GeForce 8800GTX 768Mb GDDR3 - Good
  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Good
  • ASPIRE X-DISCOVERY Blue ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - his choice.
  • TOPOWER 1000W Power Supply - TOPOWER??? The 850W Silverstone would have been better and cheaper...
  • BenQ Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD 16.7 million colors - Either 20" or 24". 22" has the same resolution as 20", and thus larger pixels... I'd have gotten 20"
  • Logitech G5 Laser Mouse - Good
  • Saitek 2-tone Gamer's Keyboard -Good
  • Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 90watt Speakers - Sure
  • Cooler Master UFO CPU Cooler - Why not a good one?
  • Linskeys 2000Mbps LAN Card - What about onboard LAN?? No reason to take another PCI slot.
  • Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 - Err... for a gaming rig? Why not PRO??

I'd consider returning the PSU... with urge! Otherwise, it'll be a nice rig! Good luck building it

I can only shed light on a couple of these.
1. It needs XP Media to link with the X-BOX 360
2. I told him the same on the HDD, but he said that he could upgrade to 1.5TB easier.
3. We figured the GPU would cop-out before the RAM, so we agreed on the G. Skill.

That's about all I can account for. He had to have the rest.

Well... tell him it's not your fault if that PSU fails and takes half the rig with it

Regarding hard drive, still the wrong choice.... on that P965 board you have like a million SATA Connectors. Get a RAID array, and you can easily add more drives. That 750GB thing is a waste of $
