The problem with engine paint is that is was designed to work with high temperatures. Its not a matter of color but more the practical use of the paint itself. Just because it works to 500 degrees doesn't mean it does well under 100. Maybe some testing would solve that issue but I wouldn't rely on something designed for engines to work for heatsinks a fraction of the size.
