Correct. I left out the ground wires (black) but I was referring to a typical molex connector, like the one in the first post. I said red was 5V which is correct. biggrin.gif

The sticker rating is always just the startup rating. wink.gif Actual current is always lower and also the real current draw while operating is on Nidec Servo's website (The manufacturer of the Gentle Typhoons)
When it comes to deltas it's about double running (datasheet spec) but for Gentle typhoons it is a bit scary though ...

Just wondered if anyone had any info on them.

Original question solved, thanks to all that helped thumb.gif
Hi everybody, could someone please help me with this because I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to wires and cables :-\

I need to get a few adapters for some new fans I've ordered (Scythe GT AP-31's) and they only have 4-pin Molex connections, but I need to connect them to my fan controller. So I need some adapters that are 4-pin Molex >>>> 3-pin, so I can connect them to my fan controller and adjust the voltage to increase/decrease the rpm as and when I need to.

I found these but they only have 2 wires (1-Black & 1-Yellow) going from the 4-pin Molex to the 3-pin plug!

So can someone please help a n00b and tell me if this is the correct adapter and let me plug it straight into my fan controller and increase/decrease the rpm???

Really need a little help please,
Thank you

long overdue im sure but they most certainly draw more. I am currently blowing my 1500w psu up over and over trying to quad sli some titans and while trying to cut power wherever I can I decided to reduce the speed of these fans the only way I can (via bios pwm) as I don't have a fan controller yet. They have a problem even spinning up without a certain amount of juice to them so I can only decrease their speed by what I would assume is 30% or so without them not working at all. Still this change has stopped my pc from shutting down during furmark except with the cards really really overclocked. Intrigued I set up the supernova power software and it fluctuates a good dozen or so watts constantly give or take in real time but best I can tell decreasing 6 AP31's by ~30% has reduced my power consumption by ATLEAST 50w. Do the math.

Wish their was somewhere else I could cut power. sigh
