While some people believe that games on personal computers and – top-notch microprocessors and high-end graphics cards – have lost their charms, it seems like they not only haven’t, but they are gaining. Moreover, they are gaining in a way that was unbelievable a year from now.

TressFX for us is just the beginning of a whole series of things that we will do together with game developers have to make PC gaming more exciting,” said corporate vice president of global channel sales, said in an interview with Heise.de web-site.

This is nice to hear. Its for sure that TressFX will evolved, especially when all games will be optimized for the consoles with AMD GPUs.

Ask Intel where DX12 is.. they'll tell you they CBA to make it tongue.gif

Is it just me or did PC gaming never really leave, just more PR was given to consoles for some unknown reason. Nice to hear that things will evolve but on the other hand I'd like to actually see would be Developers use PC's to their potential, not just as a side-platform that they port games too just for more money.

It will be easier now to develop a game for the PCs since the next PS4 and Xbox720 will be almost like a computer running with Microsoft Windows platform.

So it's very much a PC-based system then, which is great news for developers who will find it much easier to code games for the next gen consoles and for PCs.

So basically this will be big win for PCs and AMD GPUs users

And with 8 core cpu's rumored to be powering the consoles i expect heavily threaded games to make scene, the bulldozer architecture may all of the sudden start to make sense in gaming. Just look to crysis 3 as a great example of the potential of amd cpu's.

Yes, you are right, I think its the begginning of a new Era in game developping. Now only because of TressFX but because of the new consoles.

I'm liking the way AMD are shaping up, they're really putting in a lot of effort and I think they'll see their hard work pay off during the life span of the next generation of consoles. biggrin.gif

Was hoping for a little more meat to the article, maybe some statistics and what not to back them up instead of this one person I know wanted to get into a pc game after years of not pc gaming because of tressfx. It's great that they plan on doing more stuff like this and more publicity is always good but was hoping for a little more substance.
