What should I play next?

Thread Starter
After seeing all the reviews for Bioshock and Tomb Raider (and having recently finished the Mass Effect trilogy, which I [mostly] loved), I was thinking about buying one of the former two, but I should probably first ask if there's anything better.

I played Mass Effect 1 through without stopping (took my time and spent about 40 hours on it). I was less impressed with ME2, and ME3 was a bit of a struggle to get through (but still enjoyable because of the characters from 1 and 2). I loved Deus Ex: Human Revolution (again, played through without stopping). Alan Wake and Max Payne 3 were good (played through both without stopping). Far Cry 3 had amazing graphics but I never finished it... blah blah blah I'm rambling.

Basically, if somebody told you they were a massive fan of Mass Effect 1 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, do any other relatively new titles immediately come to mind?

Thanks.

Time to blow your mind with the first Deus Ex if you haven't already done so.

Both Bioshock and Tomb Raider are great games...However, I cant really compare them to either Dues Ex or Mass Effect series as far as gameplay, plot, etc. Dead Space 3 is the only game that come to my mind that would come somewhat close.

You mean you gamed 40hours non stop? That doesn't very...healthy. But awesome dedication though wink.gif

Did you play dragon age origins? It's a bioware game with many choices to make and a nice combat system.

I tried the first one I few years ago, but the graphics were more (less, maybe?) than I could handle. I know that's sacrilege, but I just couldn't do it. I know there are mods out there that improve them, but I can't see them being substantial enough to warrant playing it on a good machine (going from games like FC3 and Max Payne, and even DE:HR... it'd be pretty difficult).

I wish they'd redo the graphics and re-release it...

I've had Borderlands 2 for ages and could never get into it, I gave it another chance yesterday and it is amazing. I'd recommend giving that a go smile.gif

I've got Deadspace 1 and 2 sitting in my Steam Library... Do you recommend playing them before the third? I tried the first one a few months ago, but had the same reaction as when I tried the original Deus Ex... the graphics on a 1920x1080 monitor are just that bad. Then again, Mass Effect 1 looked pretty bad before I got into it, so...

Hmm... I bought it during the Steam winter sale and had the same experience, played for about half an hour and just didn't find it interesting. How long did it take you to get into it?

Probably took about 3 hours to get into it, once you get past level 7ish.
