1900XT artifacts

Thread Starter
My graphics card seems to be having a small amount of artifacts after i have been gaming for about 20mins and my card gets to about 76C. It only happens once i have been playing for a few mins and the card gets hot. Im using Vista RC1 and i oced the card with CCC but it wasnt a huge OC i have had it set higher with no problems.

I turned off the OC and thought it fixed the problem but im still getting some artifacts after my card heats up.

anybody have any ideas on what i should do to fix the problem?

i was thinking about installing ATT and using the fan control to turn up the fan speed to keep it cooler.

I tryed to resit the card and blow out the dust. I am checking right now to see if that has fixed it.

Ok Well heat problem aside lets first diagnose a Driver problem...Have you installed the latest or perhaps a Previous driver . Remember to use Driver cleaner.

This is a new Hard drive i installed Vista on and then i installed the newest Vista beta drivers from ATI. I put my driver settings to default to see if it was a option i had enable making the problem, i am going to go try it out now and see if i get artifacts. Ill update in a few minutes

Actually instead of installing ATT I would uninstall CCC and use Driver Cleaner Pro and then install ATT and use that all together. Takes up less ram and less resources. Also try the Warcat 6.11 RC1 drivers and see what that does but make sure to do a custom install and uncheck CCC.

well after setting my settings back to default it seems i got rid of the artifacts... but now when im playing BF2142 and im flying the planes or loading a map, every now and then my screen will just go black for a second then come back up real quick. Its like my video card/monitor is loosing reception or somthing. Any ideas whats causing it?
