Well I'm confused.

Anyway.. Should I take the risk of powering a Core 2 Quad and a GTX 550Ti with a fan less 430 Watt Power Supply, or should I upgrade to a modular 600 Watt PSU?

I'm planning on upgrading my system numerous times throughout 2013/14...

450 Will be fine.

Most people massively over estimate how much power is going to be drawn from there rig.

Damn people.... This guy doesn't have the money for a new setup right now.. Stop suggesting all these things lol. I could tell by a few posts back, we were confusing him a bit. Heres my suggestion. Get a GTX550ti or a 7770GHZ edition now. Then upgrade your CPU and PSU in a few months when you have more money. It's always a big project smile.gif

Why can't everyone be like you!

That's exactly what I had planned - get a GTX 550Ti now, then eventually upgrade to a Core 2 Quad and a 500 Watt Modular Power Supply. biggrin.gif

Don't get a GTX 550 Ti, it's a terrible card, even when it was still new.

How much are you getting it for?

Get a GTX 460 instead, when the GTX 550 Ti was still considered a 'new' card the older GTX 460 was outperforming it for less.

GTX 460's cost around as much as the GTX 550 Ti on Ebay in the UK.

Bid on these, they're great as well:
