Question regarding Displayport

Thread Starter
Okay my video card, a 7950 has two mini displayports. My monitor has the option to use diplayport, this one is however full size. Niether of course came with a cable and as I have looked around I have found it easy to find one or the other but the combination seems hard to find. When I do find it I am reading that the setup is not VESA compliant and the monitor will not wake out of sleep correctly. Can any tell me the best cable to get for this type of setup that will let my sleep work properly?

You just need a Display port to Mini Display Port adapter. (If you already have the Display port cable that came with your monitor)

You can also get DVI to DVI cable

What is your question about VESA compliant ? VESA is the wall mount compatibility !!

I have read in a few reviews of DP cables that when the monitor is hooked up via DP the monitor will not wake up with the computer out of sleep mode. The thought they had said VESA compliance was the issue.

As for the displayport cable to DVI, I want to carry the audio to the monitor. I am currently using HDMI but I keep hearing that displayport would be better.

Is displayport sleep a problem specific to your monitor? I ran displayport for a while on an Asus monitor with No problems.
