7970 - Frames Locked ? Something is holding me back ? :S ERGENT PLEASE - Page 4

Wow it really seemed that you got the short end of the stick... again,

feel sorry for you mate

If nothing is working I don't really know what to do, maybe try asking in the 7970 club they could know

otherwise is your case getting hot?, the GPU's could be throttling down due to heat

give it an RMA to get a replacement card and then you can know for sure if the problem was the card

Hmm I'm not quite sure what you're saying, do you mean you'll go back to the ASUS direct CU II card? I don't know if English is your first language or you are just rushing to type up the post but proofreading your posts might help.

what was the issue with your ASUS card originally?

i rushed to type (and i wasing using my iphone)

if we cannt fix this silly problem i will give the card back and get a asus DirectCU II TOP Edition becouse with 1125 core clock and 1600 mem. i got 115avg. fps in bf3 mp (i cant overclock anymore though becosue those cards are locked and i cant findthe unlocked older version so if i can i will unlock the card but if unlocking means no warrenty i will not unlock the card and my maximum overclock for the core voltage will be 1125mhz.

But you understand the problem i am having with my sapphire dual-x 7970 unlocked brown pcb right ?

I told you to reinstall the drivers. You had the drivers and the CAPS.

If this dont work then try to install 13.2 beta

I know that differant card = differant performance

and even if there from the sam company its up to luck

by the way i just found i out i got 115fps wihtou overclock (at 1000mhz core clock, the 1125 is 125-130fps)

is this normal ??

sapphire 7970 dual-x volteage unlocked at 1125mhz core / 1600mhz mem. gets 100-108avg.

asus directcu ii top edition voltage locked at 1125mhz core / 1600mhz mem. gets 125-130avg.

should i give this sapphire and get the DirectCU II TOP Edition card ?? but remember 1125mhz will be the furthest i can overclock becouse of the voltage lock. if there is a way to disable the lockwithout it affecting the warrently ill happly get the asus and overclock the ***** out of it lols biggrin.gif

it had a GPU chip problem both did lols

ok then since you can't seem to find the problem what I would do is take/send it back it back to where you got it and get it replaced (that's what I meant by RMA), since the chip seems to be dud.

are both cards tested with power control maxed out to +20%. at the same core and memory clocks every HD 7970 GPU should perform same. the sapphire card could be throttling or the overclock on the sapphire card is actually not working. put back the memory clocks to stock. with GDDR5 memory overclocking any errors reduce performance. check the sapphire card from stock core clocks. push in 25 mhz increments and see if performance is improving consistently.

with stock i got

2013-04-11 12:21:51 - bf3
Frames: 10160 - Time: 180000ms - Avg: 56.444 - Min: 42 - Max: 79

just couple of minutes ago in TDM CANALS 32 PLAYER

i get around 50-57.

i dont think this is normal

dual-x at stock is 950 core /1450 mem this got 50-57 with 1125 core vlock and 1600 mem i got 100avg. (every test is 100)

another wierd thing is that after that overclock really doesnt do much with the sapphire biggrin.gif the only thing changes is that with higher overclock i dont see it going below 98 with the overclock above the lowest it went was 85fps.

asus directcu 2 top edition was 1000 core / 1500 mem this got 110-115 with 1125core and 1600mhz mem this got 125-130 avg.

KEEP IN MIND THAT I TESTED THE ASUS IN 64 PLAYER TDM CANALS AND THE SAPPHIRE 32 PLAYER TDM CANALS

remember i have limted time to give the card back. if we can fix this i wont if we cant i will have to but the bad part is there out of stock anyways new stock will come in 2 weeks at latest is what there saying.
