P5B Deluxe Supported Memory?

I'm thinking about buying a P5B Deluxe (open box from Newegg), but I've read some reviews for it and other ASUS motherboards which have said that the motherboards are picky about some RAM brands.

I looked at the manual from ASUS's website, and they say thing about what RAM they support. If you use a P5B Deluxe, what RAM are you using that works perfectly fine? I'm trying to find 1 gb (512 x2 for dual chan) of DDR2 800 ram for around $100 that I will be sure it'll work with this motherboard.

I have 2 x 1Gb Patriot Extreme 6400. Very nice and stable, and able toa take some over-voltage. Had to tighten the timings as they came at 5-5-5-15 out of the box. Once I changed them to 4-4-4-8 (or 12) it was smooth sailing.

$60 more for a fan, power and data cables, rear panel shield, "array microphone", and firewire & USB brackets? (and manual and drivers, which you can get from the manufacturer's website.) Somehow that doesn't add up to $60 for me. And the only things I don't already have are the array microphone and the firewire bracket, and a few SATA power cables (my SATA hard drive takes both types of power cables). I just have to hope the motherboard works. Sending things back is a pain.

Is anyone using Wintec, G.Skill, OCZ Gold, or GeIL? They seem to be cheaper at the moment.

Well, I hear the "open box" pretty much come with everything, it's something that egg has to put there because it's sold as OEM but those are returns from people that probably don't know anything about PCs and eggs test them and not a problem maybe.

Anyhow, I haven't heard of any brand of RAM not being compatible with the P5B Deluxe. I've used Corsair and now G.Skill in mine and not a problem.
