Should I upgrade from my Apogee HD?

Thread Starter
Running my 3930K around 4.6-4.7 most of the time. The HD has performed well for me, but I'm upgrading my WC and thought I'd look into changing the CPU block as well. Any thoughts on keeping it or should I go another route and pickup another block? If recommending another block please tell me why.

As she currently sits:

Keep it.

Thermally it is one of the top performing blocks on the 3930k, the only downside is a slightly high restriction which should not be a huge problem unless you are running things like RAM or Mobo blocks or have a weak pump.

Check out Martin's test on the Apogee HD.

Ive been running through a single Alphacool VP655 and I just picked up a second to be part of my upgrades for my upcoming 900D build. So hoping restriction isn't an issue. Thanks for the info and the link.

Two D5s will be more than enough. One D5 would be plenty provided that you were just doing CPU + GPU loop and not putting other blocks in there.

I would not change your block, the Apogee HD is ideal for the LGA2011 chips due to both the size and design of the contact plate.
