I'm having a very similar problem with low scores, I'm running i5 3570k oc'd to 4.6 stable.
However my Vtx3d 7870 black edition with the .31 bios is not taking an overclock well.

If I boost the clock to 1000 and leave the memory alone I get a tiny tiny improvement in 3dmark 11.
If I raise the memory clock even 1 MHz over the base I get terrible benchmark results.

I have a question regarding flashing the bios to the .28 version

I can't find a bios switch on mine? Did yours have one or did you just override the existing bios ?
I'm afraid if the bios is not compatible I run the chance of bricking the card.

Thank you in advance.

I was having the exact same issue, no matter how much I overclocked the card I got next to no improvement.

unfortunately the card doesn't have a second bios so no bios switch, you just have to overwrite the exsisting bios, it is risky and you can end up bricking the card, I used the .028 bios from Techpower up and the guide mentioned in previous posts, i found this guide very easy to follow.

Also here are the latest score I get from 3DMark 11, thats with 1150/1550

Graphics = 8936
Physics = 8254
Combined = 7617

as you can see its a massive improvement from the .031 bios score I was getting on the OP

Wow what a difference!
Just changed the bios and now my overclock is holding rock steady. I'm running a VTX3d hd 7870 LE Black Edition.
Just had a score of 9002!
I was using the .031 bios and reverted to the .028

None of my overclocks were holding and now everthing is working perfectly.
I also noticed a lot of microstutter in Bioshock infinite using the .031 bios.
Now that I have reverted that has completely dissapeared. I had no idea how bad it was until I changed to this bios and see how smooth it should run.

Cheers guys.

I had lots of porblems with microstutter with the .031 bios and completely went when flashed with the .028 bios, it was like a different card.

what clocks are you running for the 9002 score?

glad everything is ok now

Here is a link to my 3dmark score.
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6567210

Running an i5 3570k with an oc of 4.6

On the card Im running a core clock of 1200 and a stock memory clock of 1500.
Any increase on the memoory seems to take away from the score.

I have tried bumping the voltage to see if it helps with an oc on the memory but it doesnt.

Thank you for your post regarding the bios otherwise I might not have made any changes.

Glad this helped you.

I can't get my card passed 1150 without artifacting even with a little more voltage, wish I could get to 1200

Its quite interesting that my 8320 @ 4.5 is getting around the same score as your 3570K @ 4.6 which is nice to know.
