Dunno what taking a dvi-d to hdmi adapter cable would do though, even if it let your pc push it I bet the tv still wouldn't take it. Example, no audio.

This particular TV, no idea. HDMI 1.4 can definitely do 30Hz though at 2K4K.

Quote:
HDMI 1.4 was released on May 28, 2009, and the first HDMI 1.4 products were available in the second half of 2009.[109][140] HDMI 1.4 increases the maximum resolution to 4K × 2K, i.e. 3840 × 2160p (Quad HD) at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz or 4096 × 2160p at 24 Hz (which is a resolution used with digital theaters)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI_1.4#Version_1.4

DP 1.2 meanwhile can do 3840x2160at 60Hz. And as far as that monoprice cable, either it is labeled wrong and is a dual link cable, or it is incapable of doing what they claim it can since single link is 165MHz max, and it takes 209.76MHz to do 3840x2160 at 24Hz.

This is the panel used in it: http://www.panelook.com/V500DK1-LS1_Innolux_50_LCM_parameter_17279.html

It is an 8.5 ms response time not 6.5 as advertised.

Is this a real question? How many video game consoles and Blu Ray players have DVI-D or displayport?

Interesting, S-MVA. Also, manufacturer stated response times are 100% bogus, so you should never really put any stock in them.

There are already 4K2K BR players, but they merely upsample for now since there is no 4K2K content out on BR yet.

I wouldn't bet on it, I bet they only put a 7870 if they go somewhat high end into the ps4, and I don't see that pushing 4k2k very well.
Might have the blue-ray upsample but that'd be a stretch also.

Yea, I was thinking they'd have to be upsampled until they mass produce a micro version of GE's 500gb optical disc or if they start using the new blu ray HEVC format.
Don't get me wrong it'd be cool to say I had a 4k2k tv, but it's just not practical until more devices actually put out that much.
Now when Netflix starts putting 4k2k videos up I might think twice about what I just said.

From what it sounds like most manufacturers are saying it's up to the consumer whether this technology will catch on, kinda like the HD DVD vs BluRay battle, I truly think if it weren't for the ps3 using bluray technology the battle would probably still be continuing and the prices would still be ridiculous and only the home theater enthusiasts would really be using the technology.

Yea, .
Well they support the resolution whether they put the grapics down a bit or not.
1.8 tflops sp is enough to push it especially when optimized don't forget the huga sum of gddr5 memory
