In a recent poll on Consumerist.com, it was decided that Electronic Arts was the worst company in America. This is the second year in a row that EA has taken the top prize. In response, EA's COO Peter Moore has released the following statement:

If you want to read the second part of the letter, a one-time purchasing fee of $9.99 will be applied.

In all seriousness, EA do have a point.

Tbh there gonna keep wining it if they dont up there game, If they said they would release there games on steam i can see them not getting this award next year.

More People tend to give a crap that there simcity does not work than any sort of natural disaster or whatever, Or something else wrong with another EA game, Its basically gonna be a trollfest until we see EA get rid of micro transactions in upcoming games, Make a GOOD need for speed game, Stop shoving crap high priced DLC in our throats and plenty of other things im not gonna list.

Since Origin i have been boycotting EA pretty much all the time for PC, The only exception is when the latest tiger woods game comes out and thats only available on consoles in the first place, Its not hard to do, I could live without the latest tiger woods game if i wanted, Just play some links 2003 instead.

Imo their whole X is worse so we don't deserve this award stance is pretty stupid. That's not to say they've done terrible things that compare to the likes of BoA and BP because they haven't.

BoA being worse than EA doesn't make EA a good company for starters but you have to take into account human nature for a poll like this. People tend to put themselves first.

I know that I would care more about myself being ripped off by a few dollars than some stranger who lost their home.

Fact is more people who voted feel EA has wronged them in some way than people who feel that way about BoA and a lot of BoA votes are sympathy votes, they aren't voting because they were wronged by BoA, they are voting because someone they didn't know was.

EA won not based on how bad the things they've done are but based on how many of their customers they've upset no matter how little it actually affected these people which is completely fair.

True, but on the other hand it's a moot point. "There are murderers and rapists out there, so me assaulting someone for no reason is okay" Just because there are worse out in the world doesn't mean you haven't done wrong.

Lets face it. If, for instance IGN or PC gamer did an award "Best game in the universe" we wouldn't take it as literally the best game in the Universe so splitting hairs over one websites "Worst Company In America" award is, in itself a silly argument. On the other hand I do agree, Planets health > Societies Health > Entertainment industry.

Still, wasn't the vote open world wide? If that was the case then Bank of America wouldn't really get as many votes because, at least in the UK, we don't have that much press coverage on it so it's largely unknown. Whereas EA publish their crap all over and I, myself hate them for various reasons but I didn't get to vote.
