question about radiators

Thread Starter
Ok in my build im working on i have the folowing parts with waterblocks:

Asus Maximus V Formula VRM on an EK Block
Intel i7 3770K on a XSPC Raystorm block
Nvidia Geforce GTX 690 on an EK full coverage block

My question is will the 3x120 i have be enough or do i need more?

The usual rule is 120mm per device cooled + an extra 120mm. You have a cpu and two gpu cores, so you probably want more than just a 3x120.
A quick tip is 120 per component +120. So probably i would add a 120 additional

Frivolous answer: this is OCN, if you have to ask, go more
Conservative answer (see above)
Practical answer: if you are not overclocking, you will be fine. Just monitor temps.

yea i messed up and ordered a 2x140 but where its supposed to go interferes with my powersupply being able to operate at any level and mounting it on the back blocks the video card connectors lol the only other concern is i have a single D5 variant pump and being the first time ive used a D5 i dont know how powerful it is

A D5 is very powerfull and plenty for your loop, and I also agree with the others about the rad space

It will work, but as japanesegorilla already said, if at all possible, you might want to add another 120mm or 240mm radiator if your case will allow it (which it does ... up to a 120.4 (480) up top and a 120.2 (240) down below).

If it were me, I'd return the 140.2 that you mistakenly ordered, get a 120.4 (480) radiator and put it up top. That will allow you to add a 120.2 (240) radiator later if you go SLI later on.

As far as the D5 pump, I personally love them (I have 6 of them on various machines). 1 D5 pump is more than enough for that loop and they run nice and quiet and have good pressure and will allow you to have nice flow.

hmm ive thought about replacing the triple with a quad and in the future if i went that route and also put another card/120.2 rad in would the D5 still be enough? ( sorry for the noobishness lol this is my second full custom loop lol my first one was back in 06 well before i understood the art of cable management and such heres a pic of that rig lol)

but thats why i dont know much about the pump lol my last one was a budget one lol also any recomendations on radiator brands/models and this is the current fan on the tripplex3
