Yeah, but wouldn't it be possible that OP just happened to do it at exactly the same speed twice a row? tongue.gif

Hm, max speed could also be a lot higher on lower DPI.

E: at least there's nothing wrong with the pad

Swipe it faster, the limit could be higher.

Hi there,

Is this mouse the same dimensions as the original one?

I want to use the top shell to replace my own (left click is kaput).

Thanks

At the very least, you would lose the two side buttons. It is also very likely that it won't actually fit, as the internal components aren't the same, so the shell's internal structure is probably different.

The very top plate (the thin sheet of plastic that the two main buttons are part of) might just be compatible though. I wish I had a PCbang edition to rip apart and find out.

Perhaps someone else who owns one can take it apart and post some pictures? I know the internals of "normal" deathadders pretty darn well, I've opened several and made a few frankenstein's out of parts from different editions. A few pictures of the disassembled mouse would likely be enough for me to tell if they are compatible.

I have one of these, they are surprisingly good, I prefer it over the DA I have with the 3500dpi sensor.
I prefer the rougher coating on it, I prefer the LOD on the older 1800dpi sensor, I don't really use side buttons personally..so I like the lack of side buttons, I also like the rubber cable on it over the braided cable, because it makes noise on my Hayate pad.
To me its actually superior in multiple ways.

Thanks for the response.

Also, I've never thought of disassembling only the top part (do I just pop it off?).

And yeah, if anyone has a top shell for sale I'd buy it. smile.gif

You need to open the shell, remove the upper PCB, and that will reveal 3 plastic hook clips. There is one on either side and a bit in front of the logo LED (empty rectangle protruding from the top shell with small hole in center, for those of you with black editions) and a third at the rear of the shell.

Unhook all three, and gently pry the top sheet away, making sure the subs that actually click the micro switches for left and right click don't get snagged along the way.

Reattach by simply aligning and pressing firmly into place.

This may differ for the PC bang edition, and the 2013 edition. I've never opened either of those.

Indeed the shell's internal components and structure is different so it won't work.

Also, I tried removing the top plate and that won't work either. The left/right click positioning is simply on a different spot than my 2013 deathadder.

The mouse itself is not bad but I do find the clicking sound annoying. It's loud and not as smooth, exactly as you would expect from a bulk sale mouse.

I'm going to use it but I'm still hoping for faulty but reasonably priced deathadder (2013) on ebay.
