But anyway, I couldn't find this computer over here, it wasn't available.
It's not a matter of OS, it's a matter of hardware. Compared to the dual-core 2.8Ghz SATA, my current quad-core 3.8Ghz SATA2 is significantly faster. Both run Windows 7 x64, same software, clean installations.

Where do you live?
We can't really find you a right store.

They are not in English, unfortunately, so even sharing that would be meaningless and waste someone's time trying to find the "EN" button that's not there.

I could order online (where shipping's available within Europe), but I'd have lots of trouble in case I need to send it for warranty service. So if that'd be the case, it'd also have to be a computer with a good warranty history as well. But that's quite hard to find out though?

Do you really need a touchscreen on a laptop? It looks quite useless, and I would prefer mouse.
Like I said, your best bet is increase your budget to find a powerful touchscreen laptop.

Or you can wait till Intel Haswell, where a lot of sandy bridge and ivy bridge laptop will be on sales.
Not to mention, VivoBook, Asus Tachi, YogaPad and etc will be on sales..... Maybe...

I think Lenovo made a touchscreen laptop that is in Z series I think. Not sure, you have to check it out on Lenovo website. Not sure if Lenovo will ship laptops to your country.

I wouldn't be able to use a mouse at most places I'd use my laptop, and the touchpad's really uncomfortable for my preference. So a touchscreen sounds good, as far as I'm concerned. So yea, I do need a touchscreen.

Haswell probably will come out in around 3 months, and I'm not sure I could use any discounts, unless they'd be in a store that ships internationally (within Europe). Then of course. On the other hand, I'd want Haswell, if it'd be much faster.

Anyway, S400CA Vivobook i3-3217U is available and I could push to buy it. But it has a glossy screen, which means I'd be looking at a mirror, not a screen - saw a laptop recently with a glossy screen - horrible experience using it.

Tachi's insanely huge, I'm buying a laptop to actually carry it around. If I wanted a stationary computer, I'd buy a PC.

Would have to call and check the retailers without online sites if they have Yogapad, but I bet it's out of my budget by at least 100-200 dollars.

Ehh, I recommend you find one with i5 or i7.
i3 isn't good because it is basically your daily tasks.
Sure, it could run it, but I feel like it is a bottleneck for your task.

I think there is a Lenovo Ultrabook that has touchscreen however it doesn't have a SSD.
If you want a touch screen laptop/ultrabook with a SSD, you'll be paying at least 1000 dollar for it currently.

Honestly, programs loading in Windows 8 is quite fast IMO.
First time you open the program it is slow, when you close it and re-open, it open less than a second.

Again, it's your preference, find a touch screen laptop with an i5 or i7 CPU not i3.
