[wccf] AMD Reportedly Launching Radeon HD 7990 “Malta” Dual-Chip GPU on 22nd April - Page 2

This card just seems REALLY late to the party....

I am glad AMD has done it, don't get me wrong there, but who is this targeting? Are there really still enthusiast in the market that haven't already picked up a Titan, or have two 7970's, or even a Mars? My biggest hope for this is that AMD will be quicker to market with a dual GPU 8000 series, more towards start of release.

It maybe late, or is it sneaky.gif

I honestly don't think we will see next gen video cards until well after next gen consoles launch. So that would put in well into 2014.

Looks like a sexy card, but the price is probably another 1 grand gpu from Ati just like Nvidia's Titan. That means most of us won't own it. biggrin.gif

Maybe the people that want to do tri-SLI on a Z77 board?

It's probably more of a PR/marketing thing, to at least have a near $1k card while nVidia has 2.

It's going to get Gutted in reviews with these new testing methods... they should have waited until their drivers dropped... tongue.gif

Want to see that new cooler in action though. Calling the price at $850 thumb.gif

Didn't 7970 launch Jan/12, so that's pretty late. Surely 8970 will be out for christmas, otherwise I pitty the folks that got in on 7900 right away. Me I got my 7950 CF dec-2012
