i have been mulling over a mod to my case cover for a little while now, I really liked my rig as a whole but I did not like how I couldn't look at it or show it off without removing the cover. So i brought it into work with me this last saturday and got to work. because i work at a hardware store I had all the tools i needed at my disposal here is a picture-pre work:

cut the entire panel around the inside of the pressed out section with the grills with a metal cutting jigsaw, then found a piece of 1/4 in plexi-glass that was the about the size of the hole i had cut. i cut the plex down to fit into the hole and measure to the center point. i took the grill the i had cut out and made all sides straight and even with a band saw. then using the 4 140 mm fan holes on the edges of the grill i marked the plex and drilled 4 holes into the plex. i then used a dremel to cut the plex where the 1200mm fans would be mounted and finally used 100% silicone to glue the new window into place. it is almost perfect. the one caveat is that, once mounted, i cant place both my fans on the grill because one interferes with my 5.25 drive bay mad.gif i'll live though, i just put all the fans as intake fans and have the air passivley leaving the case. here are some more pics thumb.gif

casemodding can be fun....also addictive. I try not to mod cases because if I started I wouldn't stop....I already have an expensive habit with just keeping my gaming pc up to snuff lol

it definitely could be expensive, but when you factor in the I only used scrap plex, bought the screws on discount, used all the tools at work for free, AND got paid while i was doing (even received help and input from the store owner!) I think I actually came out ahead! thumb.gif
that being said i dont know what i could do now to mod it any further really. i want to keep the overall design the same, just make it more aggressive looking.

Wish I could bring my computer into work and mod it lol.

I cant mod my pc at any of my jobs, unless I have downtime at super c, then the head tech will compare notes with me on his build which is fairly similar to mine and has some of my old gear ironically enough LOL

Hey Guys, It's been a while since my last post on this thread but to be honest I haven't done anything build log or mod wise since I last posted. But that is in the past! new mods are coming in the next couple of weeks! My wife is going out of town on the 25th and my friend Pestilaence and I are going to be doing some modding as well as some gaming during the weekend! still thinking about what i am going to do but i have some plans. more to follow soon

upcoming plans: doing the "Red Mod" to my GPU using a H80 as well as adding stick on heatsinks to the Vram to keep them cool.
recutting the 1/4" plex window to have only a 120mm grill instead of the current 240 that is there now that will hold the rad for the H80.
I am toying with the idea of doing and interior paint job on the tower, I am thinking red or Orange at the moment. when i have firmed up my plans i will post them and pictures!
