can somebody explain?

hi im new to the overclock world, i already overclock my q6600 cpu from 2.4 to 3.4 stable, run stress test and worksperfect, low temps.
specs:
Q6600 @3.4
4 gb ram 1333 mhz
msi G41M-P26
My question is the ram can somebody explain me why do i have to overclock it? would it make a big diference? i dont wanna know how to overclock it, i just wanna know why do i have to it runs a decent speed.

also.. u are saying "you have to overclock your ram" or else what? ur going to die? why is it imperative that you OC your memory? its a choice... if u dont want to. u dont have to.

Faster RAM will help in a few memory intensive programs/benchmarks and might give you smoother gameplay/better minimum framerates. Chances are you won't notice though.

And this isn't the board for questions, it's for introductions. So welcome to OCN, and if you have questions, post them in the relevant board, you're a lot more likely to get helpful and timely responses that way. thumb.gif

Questions go into the relevant subforum. You're asking about memory and are using an Intel platform, so that goes in the Intel memory section.
