Help with OC

Hello Overclockers, yestarday i builded my new rig and i would like some advices , cuz i have a feeling i do something wrong. redface.gif

My build is:

CPU:FX-8350(vishera)
Cooler:Noctua NH-D14
Mobo:Asus M5A99X EVO REV.2
PSU:Corsair CX750W
DDR:DDR3 1600mhz HyperX corsair
VGA:Sapphire 7870 XT
Case:Overseer rx-i snow edition

Ok let me start with my issues, i was happy for start that all was working proper when i finished the building, im always a bit scared that the pc might not start when i finish , haha but thank god all seem to work fine for now.

So far my overclock is 4.515mhz with 1.400v on the core all the other chips voltage are on auto , i had to disable all the power saving settings and put the ddr timings and speed manualy, HT link is 2400mhz and CPU/NB speed 2600mhz , i have also disable amd turbo core.

The idle temps for this oc is 16celsius when IDLE and when i run IBT extreme stress test the temp reaches 58celsius.

My problem is that prime95 always gives me errors or some cores stop working , not all but some of them, and with OCCT i cant pass 15-20seconds of testing, only with IBT i have no problems at all with this current overclock, it runs stable for more than 30mins that i have test so far.

Am i doing something wrong? The temps arent a bit high for this bestial nh-d14?

I would really love if you could help me somehow to achiv something better out of my build, maybe some BIOS settings i missed or i dunno, i was never familiar with UEFI bios , this is my first time doing it and im a bit of dissapointed with this low OC and the non stable benchmark resaults so far, only IBT looks stable but im unaware a lot.

Any help is more than appriciated.

You overclock is unstable.

First: Idle temps don't really matter. It's load temps that you should look at, and they look fine to me. I'm not sure how well the NH-D14 should cool, but your temps are at least safe.

Second: Your unstable OC is what's causing P95 and OCCT to crash. Even if it passes in IBT, it just means that under some circumstances your CPU will not crash while under others it will. You're going to need to either bump up your voltage/play with your voltage settings (not sure what options you have on your motherboard and therefore not sure what you should do), or lower your overclock.

Aight, ill start raising the voltages and try again the stress tools.

Thanks for the fast response.thumb.gif
