Sounds like a Driver issue more than a BIOS or hardware Issue. Make sure you are using Driver cleaner first before Installing the latest drivers..Here the general procedure :

Installing Graphic card driver efficiently!!! When you Update your graphics cards drivers theres ways that you should go about it. Follow these simple steps below.

1.Download and install ''Driver Cleaner'' Here:
http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html
2.Uninstall your Current Display drivers such as your ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia'' drivers.
3.Now run ''Driver cleaner'' and depending on the Drivers you have you will have to select either ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia'' from the drop down menu. Only select the main title of the driver in the drop down such as just ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia''
4.Once you have selected Your driver click on the ''Start'' button and this will now start the driver cleaning process. ( Do this twice to be sure )
5.Now reboot your system and Download the latest Nvidia or ATI and go ahead and install them.

Doing this avoids driver corruption and conflicts so you can now enjoy smooth gameplay.

Also make sure you have the extra power hooked up to that card as missing Power connections can so this also.

Yeah, thats more than likely a driver problem. I was having a similar problem the other day. My computer was working fine, come back from vacation and the LCD goes into standby after windows is loaded but before it reaches the login screen. I did a clean reinstall of Catalyst Control Center 6.8 (using the method Enterprise suggested) and it all works fine now.

I know what it is mate..I think. Now after you install the Drivers the DVI port is disabled in Windows....When you are using Dual screen you have to enable it in Windows .....

Follow this FAQ and try your DVI port again :http://www.overclock.net/faqs/101126...-have-2-a.html
