Having difficult time OCing E6300 past 370FSB

Thread Starter
I recieved my parts for this new pc this past week, since then I have only been able to get it up to 370 stable using orthos. My parts include E6300(week 29)/stock cooling, P5B-E, G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ memory, using an IDE Seagate 500GB HD, XFX 7600GT PCI-E, Overture II case. If I keep my FSB at 266, I can run DDr2-800 just fine, but if I bump the FSB to 400 and select DDR2-800, forget it, computer will not even budge.

My current settings are
CPU Freq-370
Dram Freq-DDR2-740
2.1 memory Voltage
1.425 Vcore
1.3 FSB Term
103 PCI-E Freq
33.33 PCI synch
spread spectrum- Disable

My ram setting are like this.

Any ideas on what the hold up might be, I tried adjusting just about everything with no success. I'd like to atleast get to 400FSB stable.

as far as i know the memory freq you sellect will be tyhe starting point of the ram so you will be starting at 800 then ocing it further try keeping the ram at 533 and bumping the fsb up to 400 then check cpuz the ram should be running at the same speed

go under jumperfree settings, under DRAM frequency, press the - button.

clock it down a notch to 677

Change the 3-11-5-14 back to 10-10-10-10.

RAM, use a 2.20v

Disable C1E support

Disable Intel Speed Step

And read this guide: P5B Deluxe: BIOS screens for maximum overclocking

I think the P5B-E has a ram voltage limitation of 2.1V and the G.Skills are rated for DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 @2.2V

If you have a later revision of that motherboard, then you could get your ram voltage up to 2.4V

?? I'm confused on this. what does the - do? also I believe the only way to get 677 is to drop the FSB to 266. At 266 FSB I can run DDR2-800. Just if I up the FSB then all the ram frequency settings change too. Right now at 370FSB, I got the first option selected which is DDR2-740, the second option is DDR2-925, third is 1110, fourth is 1233, and the last option is 1480.

Ok, changed the setting 10-10-10-10, ram voltage will only go to 2.1 on the P5B-E. Orthos fails within a minute with those settings with the 370 FSB and DDR2-740, any ideas?

Oops, I thought you got the HZ kit. Put 2.1V into it to see if you get anything out of it.
