If you get a 7 or 8 series, the quality is superb.

Like anything, if you get a crap model it will be crap. Can't really blame Samsung for offering cheaper models for folks who aren't willing to pay more for quality, that's just business.

That having been said, Samsung isn't crap. You don't go and buy a BMW 1 series and expect it to be as good as a 5 series, it's that simple really.

You can make a low end vizio look better than a high end sharp if one is calibrated poorly and the other is calibrated perfectly, and you can't use some settings you found online because it all depends on the room and the lighting.

Now could I go calibrate my cousins TV and make it look similar or equivalent to mine? Probably, but the point is Samsung picture quality isn't puke. It's actually very good and unless you're comparing some garbage model to a high end Sharp, the picture quality should be about equal at every price point. Sharp isn't the holy grail of picture quality dude.

Their last move was resorting to blocking me from inquiring about the progress of this issue and forcing their hand on resolving their faulty product and lack of customer support on their Facebook page. (There are only so many times I can call them and get the same bullcrap answers before I try another source. Same modus operandi either way, apparently.) They won't devote the resources to the problem, so they try to get it out of the public's eye instead. Yeah, that's a great company, guys! I stick by my original declaration that they should be avoided. I'm sure this happens more than I know of, but the only other company to resort to this that I know of has been Metra. That's great company, Panasonic!

People who buy Panasonic buy stuff like plasma TVs and turntables. People who still buy plasma TVs aren't concerned with such frills and have real hardware to play movies. Also, their electrolytic capacitors are some of the best.

Sorry, but I think everyone needs to take a step back and re-read this thread from another perspective, because all it is is you spouting off hatred for Panasonic given the level aggravations you have had with dealing with their customer service. Instead of trying to find the best way to solve the problem. At least that is how I take it.

People that buy the Panasonic brand don't also buy turntables and plasma screens. Panasonic made a great turntable that was the standard for turntablists, beyond that, they make other things. If you think the only reason people buy Panasonic items are for those two items (or those generation of items) you have another thing coming.

I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray player, and I have had no issue getting FLAC, MP4, MKV (over network drive), MP3, etc to work. The problem is most likely your DLNA server. I don't think I saw you mention throughout the thread what DLNA server you are using, just the fact that "it works on every other device" isn't a good enough answer. If there are limitations on that TV, then of course every other device will work, except that one. Same goes with my PS3, I am unable to stream MKV because it isn't in the DLNA spec unless the video is transcoded.

The reason you were probably blocked from inquiring about your status on the issue is because you came off rude. I get to that point because you seem to be nothing but angry over the past three weeks when you post in this thread.

Did I say that's ALL people buy Panasonic for? Nope.

People who want to stream their pirated crap across their home network need to realize that they can't rely on stuff like DLNA and other pre-made boxes to do so. You need an HTPC. If you want to use that standardized crap, you need standardized video...stuff you must buy.

The point of the thread is to illustrate my aggravations and abhorrent behavior of Panasonic, so I'm not sure why you pointed out that such things were discussed. Still, you neglect to mention that I stated the encoding used, that Panasonic found no problems with it, the various trouble shooting things tried, and that similar problems exist when a different server is involved, or even when no server is involved.

DLNA doesn't require one specific file type, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. You are also not making sense as the server is not the issue if TV limitations are a problem. Furthermore, the files are supported by the TV. That's been mentioned countless times and verified by Panasonic. The server, if functional on other devices, and similar problems exist when the server isn't involved, can safely be eliminated. But, for your edification it is a simple miniDLNA server. If you have a reason to suggest the problem is the server then please explain and I will attempt to remedy it. What you have written above doesn't make sense or tell me what you think I should be looking into.

So I'm supposed to be peachy when treated like that? It didn't work over the phone. It didn't work over email. It didn't work at the start of Facebook posts, either. In fact, I wasn't blocked until I posted a picture of their faulty firmware when they continued to neglect the problem. To suggest it has nothing to do with Panasonic being unwilling to fix their issues, because they've been so forthcoming and helpful thus far, is prematurely assumed at best. I also can't be expected to jump for joy when people (no one in specific being targeted) posting here can't use simple logic or read the thread, either. I was more than cordial to the people trying to help on here, and nicer than I needed to be to the people filling the thread with needless posts. I even refuse to address people that are ignorant or simply lie to try to bait me. I'd hardly call that response rude or angry.
