Sapphire HD 7970 and Sapphire Dual-X HD7970 Crossfire performance issues...

Hi Folks,
I've this issue with my newly purchased Sapphire Dual-X HD7970 which am trying to run on CFX with my first HD7970 Reference model (flashed GHz BIOS).

With the single old card my system runs absolutely fine and good results with 3DMark Professional.

This image below is with CFX and OC

I feel like my card performance is brought down to half after CFX.

My rig specs are below

Motherboard - X58UD7 Rev 1
RAM - G-Skill 1600 6GB
PSU - Corsair TC850 Bronze Plus
GPU 1 - Reference Sapphire HD7970
GPU 2 - Sapphire HD7970 Dual-X
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit
Processor - Core i7 930 @ 2.6GHz

I've tried installing & uninstalling the drivers for ATI and still no good result.
Using ATI Catalyst 13.3 beta 3 (tried with 13.1 as well and my 2nd card was not even properly installed)

Suggestions to solve this problem would greatly help...

Thanks & Regards

Disable ulps. Increase the power limit to 20% on MSI AB

I've Sapphire Trixx and i've increased the Li Board Power to 20% as told. Still not catching up. I feel i've been using my primary card only with OC...

I tried MSI AB as well... but the fan auto control is way to noisy.

Please suggest next step..

Thank You!

I've disabled ULPS by going to regedit and still no performance improvement...its the same only.
Furmark is not detecting my 2nd GPU...

However in Catalyst 13.3 beta 3 it is detecting....
Even in Trixx it is detecting.....

Any suggestions after this?? Should i have same bios flashed in both the cards??

Could be your psu mate, if its not got a strong enough vrail for a 7970 it would hurt the card performance

Unplug your old card's power cables, but leave it in there. See if games and benchmarks run up to standard on your new card, could be faulty.
I'm sure your cards are getting enough power, as you have an 850w PSU with decent quality. Update your drivers to the latest 13.5, and one last thing that nobody has said, ensure that your motherboard's PCI (hopefully PCI-E 3.0 x8 or 2.0 x16, don't know that mobo) slot is working properly!!
