Voltage Locked and Hard modded

QUESTION:

If one has a voltage locked GPU, is it simply a bios fix or can it be that the card is hard modded (extra pieces to prevent any bios from adjusting voltage). Flashing a bios is risky enough, but knowing that it will or will not work would go a long way to deter some, and when I say some I mean ME:). Just a thought and I am very curious. Many of us would love to be able to adjust our voltage and get that little extra oomph.

That is a good question. Generally, if it has a locked voltage, there will not be anything you can do with the BIOS to change it - I'm not really sure why that is, but I haven't seen any cases where you can replace the bios with one that will allow you to change voltages. You do have one option - hardware volt mods! We've got a section just for that.

In this day and age of overclockers and the tight competition, why would these companies tie our hands behind our backs. I get it. Soo many careless people burning up their cards and such, gotta protect us from ourselves( sounds so familiar). Well I say:

LET ME BLOW MY S--T UP

I want control over my little world. and being able to clock my gpu more would help.
