I've never heard of a little extra voltage causing a system to become unstable.

My question is how long have you been at 4.5ghz? Because usually (at least with my chip there was) there is a "burn in" period where the chip appears stable at a nice low voltage, then after a few days/weeks/month it becomes apparent that it is not stable.

Personally I would set the cpu voltage to 1.3v and stress test. You have a great chip to be at 4.5ghz under/at 1.3v. There are few 2500k's that can do 4.5ghz at under 1.3v.

Personally my chip needs 1.392v to be stable at 4.5ghz so its not like 1.3-1.35v is too much for 4.5ghz.

The chip I bought off of someone, so it isn't new. However, it was run mainly stock or at 4Ghz stock vcore for the past months. After I got it, I pushed it to 4.5Ghz, where it's been for the last month.

I know the voltage is ok for 4.5Ghz, but I have the feeling it can do it with 1.288-1.292v which I'm running now or even lower.

I'm thinking that 1.62v is causing problems with the RAM or maybe it's a combination of VTT/DRAM voltage that is causing instability...

I had PLL at 1.75v and memory stock and woke up to a BSOD... I'm sa it did hold on for longer, but can't be sure. I'm trying 1.064v VTT now. Any other suggestions except adding vcore? I'm stumped.

If your ram is at 1.6v for instance, your VTT needs to be at least 1.100. Because that's within .5v.

You never mentioned what ram you have, or it's speed. It will help if you do.

RAM voltage is at 1.53v now. BSOD'd during the night in OCCT with stock VTT. Now I'm running 1.064v VTT, same 1.53v RAM. It's Kingstom 1333Mhz crappy RAM, 2x4GB. So far, so good - 18 passes of LinX w/ AVX and 6144MB RAM passed.

Lock-up after 2h:30+min OCCT with stock PLL and 1.068v VTT. Now trying 1.58v PLL and 1.077v VTT. Any other ideas? frown.gif
