What Processes are Safe to End?

Thread Starter
Hello guys!

I think I have too many Processes running by "DEFAULT" and its consuming too much of my CPU Usage. As the title says, what processes would be safe for me to end, so I can free up some of the memory on my PC?

Are you ever running out of memory?
I mean from what I can tell that is pretty average usage, etc .. The better solution to ending processes ( when you already dont have many, I have 89 on my daily rig just booting it up lol ).. Is to buy more memory .. / 2cents.gif

You don't have too many. I am regularly running 90+. tongue.gif

Anyway I don't see anything that should be stopped. But then again I am quite tired and could be missing something.

You're only using 26% of memory.

The only time you should kill anything are:
1) You are out of memory.
2) You have a memory leak.
3) You are 100% sure you do not need an application running.
Once again...

Thanks everyone for the quick repliles.

I keep having this WINDOW come up almost EVERY day, sometimes after long gaming sessions, and other times just after a quick team death match round. In fact this Message has being coming up since I built this computer.

If indeed I do need more than the 8GB's then why do people keep saying all over the place that 8GB is enough and that 16GB is Overkill? boxing3.gif :3

Something is wrong... You are only using 26% of that memory and in gaming it should not go about 75%. Heck my RAM usage is regularly at 50-55% and even in games like Crysis 2 with MALDOHD, BF3, and Minecraft with the highest res texture pack I can find I do not receive that message.

Ummmm....Yea, then its Pretty BAD mad.gif Because I get this error message usually after Playing Black OPS 2 and its not near as demanding as BF3/Crysis. I can't even Play BO2 on Very High Settings B/C my FPS drop low enough during fights that it disrupts the fluidity of the gameplay. I being telling a friend of mine who helped me put my RIG together that something doesn't feel right. Just performance wise, it doesn't, ever since I first had this Rig.

I can't even play LoL with out my FPS going from 100- to 55 FPS every 5-10 seconds or so. I thought it was something with Port Forwarding or just my ISP (Suddenlink) despite the fact that I have 30mbps Download Speeds and 3mbps upload.

Just over all something always feels like isn't working as it should, because I tend to have bad lag in games, and low FPS where I shouldn't.

I just got my replacement 1TB Samsung HDD last week (No SSD yet), but those issues are still there. I am starting to wonder if it could be my ASUS P8Z77 V-LK MoBo?

Well..... I hope this thread doesn't die off with out any Suggestion or possible Solutions thinking.gif

Just over all ever since I got this rig my performance feels slugish for whats under the hood sort of speak. Because my old Asus G73 Laptop felt like it performed more FLUID in games, overall.

Yup, that's pop up is about the video card.... not system RAM.

Don't say more fluid.... objectively prove it!

Okay I will try the best of my ability to do so, but I posted this on a different Forum and I swear everyone said they saw nothing wrong. Even my friend who goes to my school said that I am just tripping lool and that there is nothing wrong. I know am not, because my first Dedicated GPU was an HD 5870 on my Asus G73 ROG and that thing ran all the games at that time nicely with really no major struggles, very nice line of Laptops.BTW rolleyes.gif sorry lol.

The point is that I never played games on my G73 and had so many issues like I am having with my new rig, in many general aspects. But is quiet disrupting specially if you are trying play Online MultiPlayer games in a very competitive (FUN) manner, where you actually "TRY" and pwn noobs thumb.gif

But seriously I basically learned the current PC market with no prior knowledge just a year ago, and that's how I picked all my parts for this rig, so I basically went in blind. However knowing what I learned now, since that time, I would have done things a lot different for my rig.

This RIG has given me so much trouble that I I actually have being trying to sell it on Craigslist since the beginning of the year (HATE AND AVOID 3Bay At all Cost to SELL) and I was going to use that money to build a new computer. But no hits yet.

. Either way.... All that matters is that my parts should be under warranty still, if anything would come up.

Going to Post Videos on the next POST I make. hang on Thanks thumb.gif

PS: I Don't mean just when I am recording with FRAPS.
