Will this case fit 2x 3-slot GPUs?

The case I'm looking at is the "Fractal Design Define R4" - http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&prod=99

I'm wanting to put 2x 680 SOCs in it and they are 3-slot designs. If anyone knows if it will fit them or if not another similar case that will, would be much appreciated.

ty.

Doesn't look like it. I imagine your 3rd PCI-E x16 slot it at the edge of the motherboard?

This is the mobo I'm looking at (http://www.chiploco.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/MSI-Z77A-GD65-Gaming.jpg), so the second cards cooler will stop just before the bottom row of pins, and will take up the slot of the 3rd PCI-E x16 slot.

If it can't fit, does that mean this case couldn't use the 3rd PCI-E 16x slot at all?

Thanks.

It seems that it should. There are 7 PCIe ports. The first PCIe x1 slot will align to the first, the 2nd will align to the top of your GPU. Due to the spacing on the motherboard, 2x 3 slot GPUs will take up 6 slots which covers the remaining slots. You won't be able to use the third PCIe x16 slot on your mobo coz it will be covered by your 2nd GPU. But if for example you weren't using 2 GPUs, the 3rd PCIe x16 has to be single slot it seems with this case.

Just use the image below and start counting what space your GPU will use.

and you also wouldn't want to place your GPU at the third slot anyway coz it runs at x4 and will slow down your GPU by a bit. You'd want to place it in the first 2 PCIe slots on your mobo

I was about to say, "Are you sure you want 2x 3 slot cards so close to one another? That's gona heat up like crazy."

Then i saw the card you were talking about (http://hothardware.com/Reviews/Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-680-Super-OverClock/?page=2)
Holy Geez. That a beautiful card. Interesting cooling design too where it won't pull up the hot air from the bottom card. I'm jelly drool.gif
