Howdy Ya'll

My name is Lachlan Mykael Kent, I'm 17 years old and I stem from the state of Vermont. I will not say great state of Vermont as we are one of the smallest. I am joining overclock, just to read reviews, to learn more about modifying a build and to learn how to create a build.

My dad took his own life 3 years ago and we were just beginning a build, that build has been shelved since then as I do not wish to mess any of it up. I still need parts to finish it as well and my gram who I live with doesn't always have the extra funds to put toward helping me purchase the pieces I am missing. I work odd jobs around our neighborhood to earn money but am not quite able to afford all the rest of the parts I need to build my system. But I didn't know how to build this system to begin with and so I asked around through some of my dads friends and was directed to this site and so I am here. YEAH....

My system is an Asrock X79 Extreme6/GB, I have an Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz processor, a COOLER MASTER COSMOS II case, a COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-550-PCAR-E3 550W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply, and Patriot's Viper Xtreme Series, Division 2 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency Kit (PXD38G1600LLK) memory, so I am a ways away from doing my actual build as I do not have a graphics cards and they seem to go up in price every day. I am of course a Nvidia fan, I need a few fans, and a cooling solution for my cpu but I figure I can learn and read until I am able to continue to do odd jobs such as shovling neighbors driveways and now spring is upon us so I can rake yards and such to earn the money for my parts so I can finish that which my dad and I started 3 years ago.

Thanks for allowing me to join your group here and I look forward to learning multitudes of stuff from you all.

Thankws

You will be upgrading your psu if you plan on filling that cosmos 2 with components. thats very heavy too. its a good thing that you are continuing this sentimental build and i hope u already have moved on. its nice to see too that you are working hard to get this build done. its good to have something you worked hard for. soon members with more knowledge will be posting here. im just an average top tier heatsink fan guy but for your case the cosmos 2, it can house a watercooling solution for your build. that would delay the completion of the build because its more expensive than a simple air cooled rig but its worth the hassle if done carefully. just be strong, i admire your will to finish the build by working and saving the money. can you post some pics now? smile.gif
