What are the quietest fans on the market?

Thread Starter
This question has probably been asked a million time before, feel free to link me another thread if you find one.
Just like the title implies, I'm looking to buy the quietest fans on the market, regardless of the CFM efficiency. I have 4 480mm rads in push/pull and the Yate Loon fans that I have are really noisy. Like I said, performance isn't really a key factor and neither is aesthetics; I'll be painting them anyways. Phobya, Gentle Typhoon, Corsair, Cougar and just about any fan brand has been recommended to me. I'm looking for solid recommendations from people who have a vast knowledge on the subject. However, I'm not trying to ostracize anyone who isn't an expert on the subject; any help will be appreciated TBH.

What's you setup?

I have 2 D5 pumps with a total of 9 waterblocks including my Aquacomputer Aquaero 5 XT block. As for rad space, I have 4, 480mm rads with a push pull configuration. I also have around 5 extra 140mm fans and 4, 40mm fans for the rest of the case. I run my fans at around 1500RPM.

It would be awesome if the brand that you suggest also have 140mm and 40mm counterparts. That way the blade design will match up biggrin.gif It's not a necessity though.

Thanks for any help, REP is given to any answer thumb.gif

I'll point you in the direction of this thread:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1321074/tator-tots-big-quiet-120mm-140mm-fan-round-up/

Tator Tot really seems to know what he is doing!

Personally I'm running the BeQuiet! SilentWings2. Not sure if they are the quietest fan ever but they are basically inaudible at 7V and even more so at 5v. At 12V you can definitively hear them but it's not bad at all.

They aren't the best radiator fans however, so for a 480 rad I'd recommend the Gentle Typhoons on a controller or the NF-F12's with the Ultra Low Noise adapter.

Just my 2cents.gif

Keep the fans you have, use a fan controller to turn them down.

The Skythe 1850 rpm GT's I'm using have always been my fan of choice for rads. On a controller, they can be toned down to a decent sound level, although I have no problem running them at full speed for performance.
I think the quality of a fan means a lot for overall satisfaction, when on sale they're a good investment.

REP to everyone! Thanks for the answers and suggestions. I would keep the Yate Loons but a lot of them are damaged. Plus, I can't be bothered to clean/paint them all over again. It's the worst fan in the world to disassemble/re-assemble. I've asked Tator-Tot on his thread for a more concise answer. Only because he has every major fan that has ever been in existence on hand rolleyes.gif
