Save yourself a few bucks and go for the 7970 3GB as recommended.
You don't need to shell out extra for the GHz Edition either, they're easily clocked to those speeds (you can even flash ref boards to that BIOS if you want).

Thank you all for the assistance I great appreciate it. With all your responses I am still uncertain as which to buy, but I am leaning more towards a Radeon 7970 GHz 3GB. Since I am just starting the build and bringing pieces in slowly I may even hold out till the next generation of cards or wait for the price to drop on the Titan.

I have been reading further into the forums from OCN and Tom's Hardware that the best option for MMORPG gaming the best option is the GTX 680. Can anyone attest to this notion or is the 7970 still out performing in that category?

The games I play are WoW, GW2, SWTOR, LoL, SC2,D3, and M&MH 6. I'm thinking that once I am finished building the machine of getting Assassin's Creed.

Again thank you all for your help.

It doesnt matter. For these games you need a good cpu. Nothing else even a gtx660 can max out these games
