New Monoprice 27" 2560x1440 "No Image Defects" - Page 4

I got mine last thursday and i love it.After finding out it is not a wide gamut i am even happier..I ran a input lag test and even though my camera sucks it looks to me like it is faster then my 27in Asus tn panel..Look close and you can see the third number on my monoprice on the left is between a 7and8..And my Asus is only on 8..Now i have no clue what i am doing really lol..But doesn't this mean my input lag is a tiny bit faster then my Asus TN panel? Is there a better way to test input lag?

By the way they can OC to 75hz but it frame skips..

No, it has already been confirmed that the Auria's are using a lower grade panel that is why it is cheaper. Even a former Microcenter employee stated they get many people bringing it back for dead pixels and other panel issues.

At the microcenter by my house in Tustin Ca they had 8 open box Auria monitors and only 2 brand new ones..That means alot of returns..

Yes, but it still seems to have the same 500:1 or lower contrast ratio.

True, but I know that Nixeus Vue review was based off their first production run (July/August 2012)... since then, I think Nixeus have stated they use different variations of the LG panels for every production run - just as long as they are A grade or A+ grade... the Vue are still using glossy panels.

Also Auria panels are all Anti-Glare now... and someone last year posted that an EQD rep confirmed that the Auria's panels are two levels below A+...

So I don't think they are using the "Same panel" as what some people are saying because Nixeus have said they don't stick to just one type of LG Panels... and the lower quality panel batch grade may be why the Auria is selliing for a cheaper price.

Anyhow this is the Monoprice thread... don't want to derail it...

Mine is about 400:1 according to ColorHCFR and my i1 Display Pro. I think having a plasma TV has just completely spoiled me. Every IPS I've ever seen just seems like trash due to how awful the black levels are. Any dark scenes in video games or movies are generally unbearable.

OLED can't come fast enough. You'd think that someone would at least make a monitor with local dimming or something.

I'm not sure how accurate the contrast measured by consumer calibration tools are; I just got a pPyder 4 pro, and it says that my U2713HM has a contrast ratio of only 600:1 for the higher brightness levels. However, pretty much all of the reviews that I have found that test the contrast ratio have gotten at least 800:1, and have much lower black levels than mine does according to the Spyder; I think it must somehow be picking up off angle IPS glow as the contrast ratio at least visually seems very good for an IPS LCD. I might try to measure it with the sensor and third party software to see if that makes any difference.

I have also been spoiled by a plasma (and an OLED screen on my phone), and I have just accepted that I will never get really good black levels from an LCD.

The i1 Display Pro is considered one of the best colorimeters out there. Pros use them, and they are also one of the top meters when it comes to low light readings. The readings I get with my plasma set are inline with what ive seen professional calibrators get, and its black levels are significantly lower than this LCD.

Just received mine today and I'll definitely be sending it back. There aren't any dead pixels but the backlight bleed is unacceptable. The description of this monitor says, "That means no backlight bleed, no dead pixels, no focus issues at the edge, nothing wrong at all" ... hmmm... looks like a bad one got through. I'm debating on whether to get a full refund or roll the dice on another one. I don't know... maybe I'll just pick up the ASUS PB278Q for like $620. Attached are some pictures...
