CPU BLOCK? EK vs XSPC vs KOOLANCE vs HEATKILLER - Page 2

I am curious to your personal experience with any of these blocks. I'm looking to "upgrade" but I'm not sure I can do that from my XSPC Raystorm, $80-100 for a 1-2C difference doesn't seem justifiable. Increased flow by a larger number would somewhat. The XSPC is such a PITA to mount makes me wish it had a reverse mounting system (scres in back through motherboard instead of trying to screw down to motherboard, really makes mounting a pita)

XSPC Raystorm and CPU-380 are the best blocks on the market. CPU-380 has a temp difference from the Raystorm by less than 1 degree. The Raystorm has a better flowrate of about .02 gallons per minute.

Their virtually identical. No point in upgrading.

People seem to claim the Heatkiller has better pressure when you start adding multiple waterblocks on a single motor, that just seems irresponsible to me though.

i wish that coolance was full copper biggrin.gif im diggin the heatkiller but i dont know how they perform

apparently i shouldnt have issue with copper / nickel but seeing as i went through hell and back to get rid of my nickel heatkiller gpu block id hate to just slap on a nickel cpu block biggrin.gif

I have a Heatkiller Rev3.0 1155/1156 CPU Block Ni-BL, temps are great at stock (no more then 50c), overclocked at 4.7GHz @ ~1.49v I'm getting 70-75c. I think the problem with my setup right now is that the res isn't fully filled. Shame since I'm too busy with school work right now, I'll give it a go over the weekend though if you want an update?

All of the Heatkiller Rev 3.0's will work the same i reckon, they're all made of copper with different covers (I love the look of the one I have)

EDIT: I may have used too much paste.. I may re-mount.

The only decent review (that I know of) on a LGA-115x platform was done recently by Moonman, go see here. Numbers actually corelate with stren's (on a LGA-2011 platform) so that's always a good sign when it comes to comparability and consistency of testing methodologies.

there was reviews about when the raystorm and supremacy first came out with koolance 370 and as far as I remember there wasn't enough difference between them to make it any more then what you you liked the look of. I have the raystorm cpu and EK uni vga and I'm happy with the performance of both

I was looking at the HeatKiller Rev 3.0 block for my comp at Micro Center last weekend. I was unable to mount 2x Bitspower Matt Black 3/8in. Compression Fittings for 5/8in. OD Tubing(BP-MBCPF-CC3) onto block. You may need to look at using barbs instead from what I seen. Maybe Matt-Matt can confirm this for you if you are indeed going that route.

I'm using two bitspower barbs on the block unfortunately! Kind of happy I went with barbs in the end instead of compressions because the fittings I have look great (and match it).
That and the whole compression fittings not fitting..

Just showing it off wink.gif

EDIT: Yes it seems a bit dirty in the picture but it's actually not! tongue.gif
Oh and I'm using 7/16th tubing on 1/2 fittings for a tight fit smile.gif
