[CNET] Samsung: Galaxy S4 for U.S. has four cores, not eight - Page 11

With the S4 and the Mega being out of the picture.

I guess all I have left is the Note 3. And its set to drop around the same time my contract ends.

Just need to be patient.

There is no definitive bench proving 1.9Ghz Quad Krait 300(S600) is faster than 1.6Ghz Quad A15(Exnynos Octa), until we get info on A15 vs Krait 300 in IPC or a direct bench-off it is too early to say which side is faster.

Depend on hand size, pocket size & above all personal preference. My 4.8" GS3 that is almost 3" wide with a case on fits comfortably in my pocket, and I can operate it with one hand comfortably. The large screen is such as big plus when I read ebooks, broswse webpages and all other form of contention consumption.

After using a phone with 4.8" screen the smallest phone I will ever use will have at least a 4.7" screen. Having to use my colleague's 3.5" Iphone 4S to set up Viber for him was such an inconvenience for me.

The DAC on the S600 version works great. The frequency response graph is pretty damn flat, which is ideal.

+rep for this as this is something i've been looking for. It doesn't even have to be Wolfson but knowing it's a 'good' DAC (and good shielding) lets me know it's a good upgrade...

Like you, I have been waiting for this significant upgrade - which the GS3 wasn't. To tell you the truth, my i777 still does the job, takes really good pictures, battery still lasts long...

I considered the HTC One with it's higher quality feel and different camera, and 60FPS @ 720p is a plus, but after seeing the day light photos, especially zoomed it, it backed me away from it's 4mp camera... My GS2 replaced my point and shoot camera and I load lots of pics onto the iPad for viewing and zooming in on images... The higher 13MP on the GS4 will serve it quite well...

As far as an external MicroSD card, I have a 64GB almost filled with FLAC audio (each album averages over 500MB) and I know there is a separate debate on FLAC vs 320Kbps MP3, but it's my preference knowing that the audio on my phone is lossless. My roommate tells me he likes to "stream" his music from Google Play, but driving through a tunnel, or having a workplace with no reception, or relying on AT&T's antennae and my limited data plan are all something I consider... The Samsung Galaxy S series always had the expandable MicroSD slot, so why stop? For the people who says that 'I do not need it', who are you to tell me that? it's my preference and I don't feel like throwing away my 64GB MicroSD card...

As far as Quad vs 2xQuad, this 1.9ghz for us US carriers is more than enough for me. The audio quality on the Snap600 was a good read, and like already stated, what will take advantage? It will be the fastest mobile phone that I can purchase and I don't plan to run Crysis on it, but knowing it will be able to run whatever Android apps that I throw at it.

I think I implied it was MY personal preference. And my hand's aren't small by any means.

I don't see any proof anywhere to back up the claim that 99% of markets will get the Snapdragon 600 chipset. Can someone provide proof or is this yet another random statistic?
