Cool mAtx HTPC AM3

So I have a antec fusion remote black HTPC. I have had it for over a year, but it just is not quiet enough for me. It is in my room, and my room does get quite hot at times. Since the weather is warming up I need to start thinking about keeping it cool as I leave it on 24/7. Been going through the forums here and I have found some great advice and CPU coolers I could use, however often times I am afraid the CPU cooler mentioned will not fit into my PC or has been discontinued. So basically I have two 120mm stock fans set on low blowing air out of the case( they aren't very quiet looking to replace them). My CPU is a AMD Phenom II x4 Black edition I believe the fan is 80mm..

Attaching two pictures of space inside.

How much room do you have between motherboard and cover?
If you have 125mm you can put a Thermalright True Spirit 90M

If you have 145mm you can put a Thermalright True Spirit 120M

Prices very depending on where you live. Here the TS 120M is £24.98 and TS 90M is £21.98

Thanks for the response, however I don't even think I have 120mm from board to cover.

There are shorter ones. Would still be nice to know what your motherboard to cover clearance is. And also if you have a vent in to cover directly above the CPU.

Just measured from board to top of case I have 125mm. But on top of the CPU to the cover would be less I would presume.

Indeed.

About 8mm less.. meaning you have about 117mm to cover. wink.gif

What about vent in cover over CPU?

I do not have a vent in the cover at all.

Came across this http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=189&area=en
However I feel as if I would need a fan on it? It says optional fan but can't seem to find one anywhere unless I just put on any 60mm fan? Not sure how great it would cool though.

Check out the Thermalright AXP-100. Very good cooler with the 100mm fan it comes with. Just run the fan sucking from cooler instead of blowing in. Reason is RAM, GPU, I/O housing case the hot exhaust from bottom to circle back up and get sucked into intake fan... if fan is exhausting up it only hits top and goes off flat to edges of case or into exhaust fans. I have one and love it. He's some pics and my impressions and testing of it.
